Data and Analysis

The GMAC Datahub

The foundation of GMAC's analytical work is the GMAC Datahub, which is a central resource for access by all GMAC analysts. The hub provides analysts with data from a variety of partnership sources, and allows a more comprehensive and strategic picture of an issue to be built, rather than only using one or two data sources at a purely tactical level.

The hub is housed centrally within Greater Manchester Police, and is only accessible by way of a secure link.

Local Analysis

Within each of the 10 Greater Manchester CDRPs, there will be at least one GMAC Strategic Analytical Partnership Co-ordinator. This person will have access to the GMAC Datahub via a secure link, and may be based in a variety of premises from Local Authority buildings to a local Police station, depending on the area.

They will typically attend local Tactical Partnership Business Group (TPBG) and Strategic Partnership Business Group meetings, as well as a range of thematic groups, and will be commissioned to produce analytical reports and products in support of these groups. A map indicating who is currently performing the GMAC Strategic Analytical Partnership Co-ordinator role in each of the districts is below:

Please use the 'Contact Us' link at the top of the page to contact a local analyst.

Central Team Analysis

In addition to local analytical resources, the GMAC Central Team also contains Strategic Analytical Partnership Co-ordinators, who are aligned to the Strategic Themes identified by the TMPPO Governance structure. This will involve the production of analytical products for and attendance at relevant Strategic Theme Groups to foster progress against prioritised recommendations for that group. These recommendations are detailed on the Opportunity Strategy produced by the GMAC Central Team on a yearly basis, which itself is informed by the evidence base that GMAC provides annually in the Greater Manchester Strategic Assessment.

A secondary function of these analysts is to provide support and guidance to local analysts where required by CDRPs, or individual analytical persons working in Community Safety Teams in the 10 districts. More on the Central Team analysts can be found on the 'GMAC Central Team' page.

Crime And Disorder Research and Development Group (CADRAD)

On a monthly basis, local and central analysts, along with other partnership analytical practitioners in Greater Manchester, will come together to meet at CADRAD Group.

CADRAD represents a forum whereby analytical techniques can be shared between colleagues, information distributed and guest speakers invited to inform the group of regional and national developments in data and analysis.
